Judith Medbury

June 24, 1943 — March 18, 2024

Judith Ann Medbury of Jeffersonville Ga, 80, passed away on Monday March 18, 2024. A memorial gathering will be held at a later date in Woodstock, IL, where she will be laid to rest with her parents and brother.

Judy was born on June 24, 1943, in Woodstock, IL., to the late Leslie H. and Anne (Jirek) Douglass. She graduated from Woodstock High School in 1961 and she was married to Donald Ames in 1962. They made their home in Austin,TX where Brian was born.  When Don's contract was up, they moved back to Illinois where Gary was born in 1969. Later that year, they moved to New Hampshire. Judy divorced Don and later married "Cliff" in 1981.  For the most part, Judy was a mother and homemaker.  Judy and Cliff loved to travel.  Judy was Cliff's "passenger princess." He would always open her car door…always!  She worked at a printing company in Nashua NH, and even drove a school bus there.  In retirement, Judy and Cliff worked for a car rental company in Manchester NH, mostly for something to do.  They moved to Seminole, Florida in 2008 to be closer to their grandkids. Judy moved to Macon, GA a couple years after Cliff passed away to be closer to Gary.

Judy is survived by her brother, her sons, Brian Ames (Tina) of Clearwater, FL and Gary Ames (Mary) of Dighton, KS; her grandchildren, Staff Sergeant Greg Ames (Heather) of Clovis, NM and Addyson Sapp (Brennan); great grandchildren Carter and Brooke Sapp of The Colony, TX; niece, Kelley Odell of Courtland, NY and niece Katherine Ames Iserman of Blaine, MN; and a nephew Michael Douglass of Gilberts, IL.

She is preceded in-death by her husband, George Clifford Medbury Jr; her parents, and brother, Wayne Douglass; two half-brothers, Eugene and Bill; and a half sister May.
