Mrs. Hart was born in Peebles, Ohio, on November 4, 1940, to the late Mr. Harvey Paul Thatcher and Mrs. Helen Wiseman Thatcher. She retired from Byron Elementary after serving for 26 years as a secretary. Mrs. Hart was a faithful member of Byron Baptist, where she lovingly served in many roles such as church secretary, nursery, and kitchen for 30 years. A two-time cancer survivor and a shining example of selflessness, she devoted herself to serving the needs of others by volunteering at Peach County Hospital and local Hospices for many years. She spent much of her free time traveling, entertaining, playing games like Uno and Phase 10, shopping, and going to yard sales. But most importantly, she loved spending time with her beloved family, as they were the light of her life.
Mrs. Hart was preceded in death by her husband of 52 Years, Boyd S. Hart and brother, Dean Thatcher.
Mrs. Hart is survived by her loving family, daughter, Kim A. Monaghan (Dennis); son, Alan Hart (Diane Nelson); grandchildren, Leslie Ann, McKensi Lea, and Karol Ann; great-grandson, Carter; brothers, Donald Thatcher, Dale Thatcher, and David Thatcher; and lifelong best friend, Joan Pate.
In lieu of flowers, the family graciously requests donations be made in Mrs. Hart's honor to: Pruitt Health Hospice, 1626 Jeurgens Court, Norcross, GA 30093, or National Association for Down Syndrome, www.nads.org/donations.
