Joey was born on July 15, 1960, in Macon, Georgia to the late Mr. Willie Sanford Tidwell and Mrs. Doris Verna Corley. He was a commercial tire salesman for Macon Commercial Tire. He made many lasting friendships with his customers and devoted much of his time to ensuring they were always taken care of. One of his biggest accomplishments, according to his mother, was the letter he received from Jimmy Carter for his perfect attendance in all twelve years. Joey enjoyed swinging his wife around on the dance floor, socializing with his friends and making memories with the people he loved. He was humble, caring and would give the shirt off his back to anyone in need. If you ever had an interaction with him, whether you're a stranger or not, you could attest to his kindness. Joey enjoyed the outdoors, and the simplicity it provided, including hunting, camping and fishing. Above all, his family was the light of his life. He will be dearly missed by all those who knew and loved him.
Left to cherish his memory is his wife, who was one week shy of 19 years of marriage, Wendy Tidwell; son, Garrett Mitchell (Jordan); brothers, Clay Tidwell (Sandra) and Blaine Tidwell (Wanda); sisters, Robyn Moore (Jeffrey) and Sherrie Smith (Terry); and a host of many nieces and nephews whom he loved dearly.
