Reverend Joseph "Joe" Butterworth , 85, went home to be with the Lord, whom he loved and preached about for 50 years in 6 Middle Georgia churches. He retired from Robins Air Force Base after 30 years of service. He served in the US Air Force active and reserve for 8 years.
He was the son of the late Reverend Joel and Irene Butterworth. He is survived by his wife, Ann of 62 years; daughter, Darcy Sutton (David) of Lizella, Two sons, Mark Butterworth (Debbie) of North Richland Hills, Texas, Matt Butterworth (Tammy) of Macon. Sister, Billie Dove Hall of Waleska, Georgia; Ten grandchildren and Eighteen great grandchildren, One great great grandchild.
A graveside service will be held Monday, August 10, 2020 at 10:00 a.m. in Glen Haven Memorial Gardens. Reverend Jim Lane and Reverend Bobby Hamlin will officiate. Due to Covid 19 social distancing and face coverings will be required. Pallbearers will be Joseph Sutton, Ben Butterworth, Brandon Butterworth, Andrew Butterworth, Jarred McCarley, Tripp Riddle, Honorary, Kris Sutton.
