John Raymond Simmons, 62, of Ivey, Georgia, passed away on January 2, 2025. A double funeral service to celebrate he and Vicky's life will be 11:00 AM, Wednesday, January 8, 2025, at FairHaven Funeral Home; 4989 Mount Pleasant Church Rd. Macon, Georgia. The family would like to invite friends to join them one hour prior to the service for a time of visitation. Burial will be private.
Mr. Simmons was born on December 4, 1962, in Macon, Georgia, to the late Mr. William Richard Simmons and Mrs. Joann White Simmons. He was employed with Macon-Bibb County where he was a Maintenance Technician. As a devoted father, he always put his family first, offering unwavering support and love. Raymond had a heart for helping others, never hesitating to lend a hand whenever it was needed. He found joy in the simple pleasures of life, whether it was watching his favorite NASCAR races or spending peaceful hours fishing. A true jack of all trades, Raymond could fix just about anything and always took pride in his skills. Above all, he cherished time spent with his family, especially his grandkids, who brought him immense joy and pride. Raymond's legacy of love, laughter, and kindness will forever be etched in the hearts of those he left behind.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Simmons was preceded in death by his girlfriend of 21 years, Vicky White; daughter, Misty Leigh Simmons; and brothers, Richard Lynn Simmons and Frankie Simmons.
Left to cherish Mr. Simmons memory are his children, Christa Simmons (Jeremy Wright); Jordan Hunter White (Hannah), Jessica White (Regan Webb); and Brooklynn Rose; grandchildren, Blakely Wright and Brylea Wright; sisters, Sandra Reynolds, Barbara Miller, and Angela Sailors; brothers, Aaron Watson, Charlie Simmons, and Michael Simmons.
