John Davis "Dave" Post, Jr., 66, of Macon, passed away on Wednesday, October 27, 2021. A celebration of Dave's life will be held on Tuesday, November 2, at 12:00 PM at Mikado Baptist Church with Pastor Ed Chambless officiating. The family will greet friends one hour prior to service.
Dave was born on January 1, 1955, in Macon, Georgia to late John Davis Post, Sr. and Sara Ann Phelps Post. He was retired from Trucks Incorporated, where he was a truck driver. Dave was a member of Mikado Baptist Church, where he proudly served on the church security team. He was the ultimate outdoorsman, spending much of his free time hunting, fishing, and riding his grandbabies around on his four-wheeler. Dave was a loving husband, father, and "Papaw." He will be missed by all the knew and loved him.
Dave was preceded in death by his brothers-in-law, Buddy Fannin and Doug Showker.
Left to cherish Dave's memory is his soulmate and wife of 41 years, Betsy Yancey Post, daughters, Casey Brown (Jason) and Erin Hamrick (William); grandchildren, Judson Brown, Lily Brown, Lincoln Brown, and Everly Hamrick; sister, Lisa Post; parents-in-law, Joe and LaRue Yancey; sisters-in-law, Barbara Joe Yancey (Judy) and Fay Fannin; brother-in-law, Burch Yancey (Theresa); and several extended family members.
