A memorial service to honor his life will be held on Friday, July 26, 2024, at Victory Baptist Church; 5687 Houston Rd Macon, Georgia 31216. John was born in Atlanta, Georgia on February 22, 1958, to Mr. John Alton Garrett, Sr., and Mrs. Mildred Levina Roumillat.
He was a simple man that enjoyed nothing more than spending time with his family and communicating with all of them, as much as he could. You could always expect a phone call from him to be lengthy and entertaining. He was a devoted and hardworking Maintenance Mechanic for Walthall Oil of Macon for many years. John never met a stranger and was always willing to help anyone in need. He found joy in the simplicity of the fresh air, whether that be on his lawn mower or just sitting outside. Above all, his family was his entire world. He took pride in his children and grandchildren and loved them dearly. He will be missed dearly by his family and friends.
John is preceded in death by his brother, William (Billy) Henry Garrett and his son-in-law, Larry Amerson.
Left to cherish his memory is his wife of 25 incredible years, Jennifer Garrett; children, Johnathon Beau Garrett, Melissa Garrett Herrington (James), Jewel Skye Garrett, and Victoria Elaine Garrett; mother, Millie Horton; father, John Garrett, Sr.; brother, Robert Reid Garrett; sister, Linda Garrett Amerson; grandchildren, Abigail Katherine Herrington, Charlie Ava Herrington, and Murphy Tyler Herrington; his four legged friends and a host of nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins.
