John Barton

John Thomas Barton, 73, of Macon, passed away peacefully Thursday, October 20, 2016 with his loving family by his side. Funeral Services to honor his life will be held Monday, October 24, 2016 at 2:30 p.m. in the Mausoleum Chapel of Glen Haven Memorial Gardens, entombment will be immediately following . The family will have a time of visitation Sunday, October 23 from 2:00-4:00 p.m. at FairHaven Funeral Home.
Born in Macon to the late Wallace and Ina Barton, John proudly served our country for four years, in the United States Marine Corps. After his time in the service, John began working at Riverwood, now known as Graphic Packaging, where he worked for 50 years. In his spare time he loved to travel, especially to the mountains and the beach. One of his favorite things in life was his family, and he loved being with his grandchildren. Above everything John was a loyal man. He was loyal to his country, his family, and his job. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
Left to cherish his memory is his loving wife of 43 years, Denise Barton. Two children; Barbara Jean McCollum (Rob) and John Wallace Barton (Rebecca) as well as Four Grandchildren; Robby & Sarah McCollum and Cheyann and Gavin Barton.
