Born in Dublin, GA, Joel was the son of the late Curtis L. and Marie W. Price. He was preceded in death by his brother, Curtis L. Price, Jr, of Jacksonville, FL. He is survived by his twin sister, JoAnn Jones of Macon, GA.
He graduated from Willingham High School in 1966, after which, he joined the United States Air Force. Joel proudly served in the Vietnam War as a crew chief, and received several promotions before he was honorably discharged as a staff sergeant. He remained a devout patriot throughout his life. After returning home to Macon, GA in 1972, Joel was employed at Armstrong World Industries, where he remained until his retirement in 2003.
Joel spent his life in service of others, taking care of his family and friends. He was a wonderful handyman and mechanic, and could repair any broken item he put his hands on. His passion in life, however, was deer hunting. He spent 47 seasons "in the woods" with his brother-in-law, Wayne Flanders, who survives him today.
Joel married Brenda J. Fiveash of Macon on November 16, 1968. They were steadfast partners for more than fifty years. She survives him today, along with their children, Leslie P. Carroll (Ricky) and T. J. Price (Jessica), and five grandsons, Logan Price, Jonah Carroll, Lawton Carroll, Brendon Price, and Wynn Price.
Joel was loved by many close family members who survive him today. In addition, he was member of Bethany Baptist Church in Bolingbroke, where he was adored by many members.
