Joe Hill "J.H." Batson Jr. passed away peacefully on Thursday March 13, 2025. A funeral service to celebrate his life will be 11:00 AM Tuesday March 18,2025 at FairHaven Funeral Home. The family invites friends to join them one hour prior to services for a time of visitation. Immediately following services, he will be laid to rest at Macon Memorial Park Cemetery.
J.H. was born on July 14, 1948, in Macon, Georgia to the late Mr. Joe Hill Batson Sr. and Mrs. Helen Rebecca Batson. He was a man who lived life to the fullest, embracing every moment with a deep passion for the things he loved. Whether he was out hunting in the woods, cheering on the Georgia Bulldogs or Atlanta Braves, or enjoying a quiet camping trip, J.H. always found joy in the outdoors. His kind heart and devotion to his family were evident in everything he did, from his strength and humor to the way he listened intently when others spoke. A jokester at heart, he could always be counted on for a laugh, but his quiet demeanor and genuine nature made him a beloved figure among those who knew him. J.H.'s love for travel, watching Westerns, and his fondness for Elvis and Diet Pepsi were just a few of the things that made him unique, a man who found happiness in life's simple pleasures.
In addition to his parents, he is predeceased by his loving wife of 27 years Linda Batson; brother, Glen Batson and sister, Judy Batson.
Left to cherish his memory are his sons, Gary (Mariam) Batson, Chris (Amy) Batson, Wesley Tidwell; daughters, Theresa (Mario) Moore, Laura (Cody) Batson; brother, Lin (Sandra) Batson; sister-in-law, Brenda Batson; grandchildren, Richard Batson, Zane Batson, Laila Batson, Algernon Moore, Jaden Moore, Haven Batson, Karsyn Collins, Kelsey Batson, Tiffany Tidwell, Taylor Tidwell; great grandchildren, Angel Moore, Landon Tidwell, Brianna Tidwell; nieces and nephews, Russell Batson, Kieth Batson, Sean Batson, Sommer Bostic.
The family wants to express a very special thank you to Zenay Cornelious, for taking care of J.H. for the past several years.
