Jimmy Carl Spires, 76, of Macon, passed away suddenly on Thursday, January 10, 2019. The family will have a time of visitation to greet friends on Saturday, January 12, 2019 from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at FairHaven Funeral Home, 4989 Mount Pleasant Church Rd, Macon. Funeral Services will be held Sunday, January 13, 2019 at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel at the funeral home, Reverend Charles Carter and Reverend Patrick Cramer will officiate. Burial will be immediately following in Macon Memorial Park Cemetery.
Jimmy was born on August 8, 1942 in Macon to the late Marion R. Spires and Mary Beck Gregory. He was an extremely hard working man. In 1974 he began his own business in Macon, Yellow Cab Company, which is still active in Macon. After retirement, he enjoyed playing his guitar and riding his motorcycles. He was the past president of the Georgia Taxi Cab Association and a member of the National Taxi Cab Association. Jimmy was a member of Second Baptist Church.
He was preceded in death by his parents as well as one brother; David F. Spires.
Left to cherish his memory is his loving family; His wife; Dorothy Ann Spires, Children; Ricci C. Spires, D. Michelle Spires (Zack Kish), Shannon Spires Moxley (Shannon D.). Grandchildren; Blake Spires and Logan M. Rowland. Siblings; Chriss L. Spires (Patsy), Henry Corbett Spires (Eberline) and Rogers Spires (Betty). As well as several nieces and nephews.
