Jimmy Head "PawPaw", 84, passed away peacefully on September 8, 2023, at his home. The family will have a time of visitation on Monday September 11, 2023, from 6-8 pm at FairHaven Funeral Home with a graveside service to follow at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday September 12, 2023, at Grace Primitive Baptist Cemetery with Reverend Louis Pearce officiating.
Jimmy was born on New Years Day 1939 in Hawkinsville, Ga. After serving in the United States Army, he moved to Macon, Ga where he was an employee at Brown and Williamson. He worked there from 1976 until he retired in 1999. In retirement, he enjoyed vacationing with his family at the beach and spending time with his loved ones. Most people knew Jimmy by his outgoing personality and contagious sense of humor. He always entertained family, friends, and coworkers with pranks, jokes, and funny stories. Those closest to Jimmy knew him by the love for his family. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather.
Jimmy was preceded in death by his son, Randall Keith Head.
Jimmy is survived by his wife, Vickie, with whom he would have been wed 63 years on September 14, 2023, son Mark Head (Darleen), daughter, Lisa O'Brien (David), 5 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren, sister, Ruby McCarty (Buddy), half-siblings, Jackie Britt, Mary Powell, and JT Head, as well as several nieces and nephews.
