Jelena S. Lee, 82, of Warner Robins, Georgia passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family on Sunday, June 9, 2024. There will be a Catholic service on Wednesday, June 12, 2024 at 5:30 PM in the Chapel of Fairhaven Funeral Home. Immediately following, there will be a visitation from 6-7 PM.
Jelena was born on May 31, 1942, in Novi Sad, Yugoslavia to the late Mrs. Milica Gable Cupic (Milan Cupic). At an early age, her mother, Milica courageously jumped off a moving train with infant Jelena in her arms. Later, at the age of nine, they came into freedom on the Queen Mary through Ellis Island. They were World War 2 survivors. Building her life in the United States was what brought her the most joy. She married Daniel Edward Lee and together they built a life they loved. Jelenas' heart was prided with caring for others, her family, and children. Her strong-willed, loving, passionate and confident heart will be missed dearly by all those who knew and loved her.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband of over 50 years, Daniel; son, Eric Edward Lee; brother, Milorad Cupic.
Left to cherish the many memories of Jelena is her family, son, Wesley (Tisha) Lee; daughters, Robin (Chris) Thomas, Jelena (Terry) Slaughter; brother, Jovah (Dragana) Cupich; grandchildren, Jelena C. Lee, Adrianna Lee, Kai Lee, Rebecca (Daniel) Richards, Elliott Thomas; great grandchildren, David and Ryan.
