Jason T McCannon, 48, of Macon, Georgia passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on Thursday, October 10, 2024. The family would like to invite friends to join them for a time of visitation on Sunday, October 13, 2024, from 3:00 – 5:00 PM at Fairhaven Funeral Home. A funeral service to honor his life will be held on Monday, October 14, 2024, at 11:00 AM in the chapel of Fairhaven Funeral Home. Immediately following, Jason will be laid to rest in the New Elim Baptist Church Cemetery. Pastor Richard Jacobs will officiate.
Jason was born on April 13, 1976, in Macon, Georgia, to Velma Denise Bassett and Thomas Wayne McCannon. He enjoyed the simplicity of the outdoors whether that was fishing, golfing, or grilling. He attended Windsor Academy where he graduated in 1994, and where his children currently attend. He was a member of Porterfield Baptist Church and was baptized on January 6, 1991. Jason was loving, loyal, and especially a hard worker, helping his brother run Ultimate Landscaping. He took pride in the things he did, and never let anything stop him. Above all, family was the center of his life. His kind heart and nurturing spirit will be dearly missed by all those who knew and loved him.
He is preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Joseph and Velma Bassett; and uncle, Jody Bassett.
Left to cherish his memory is his wife, Julie Blalock McCannon; mother, Denise Bassett; daughter, Alyssa McCannon; son, Raylan McCannon; step children, Breanna Chapman, Madison Banknell and Nathaniel Yeomans; brother, Justin (Jessica) Thompson; aunt, Angela (Rick) Denny; nephew, Asher Thompson; cousins, Nicholas Denny and Alexandra (Ben) Barnes; step grandchild, Dayton Chapman; uncles, Stephen and Keith Bassett; and many life long friends.
