Mrs. Arrowood was born on September 13, 1949, in Lafayette, Indiana, to the late Mr. Ronald Weiss and Mrs. Mary Jane Foster Weiss. She retired from Atrium Health Navicent, where she worked as a registered nurse for nearly 40 years. She loved music and was active in the Mikado Baptist Church music program and the Macon Concert Band where she played the clarinet. Travel and adventure were always a passion for Jan, and she loved traveling with her husband, family and friends. Camping, snow skiing and cruises were her favorites, but she carries special memories of her trips to The Holy Land and England with Tom. The entire family will fondly remember the many trips to the lake growing up as well as the four-week cross country trip in an Econoline van and pop up camper. Jan also loved serving in her church Awana program where she impacted hundreds of boys and girls with the Gospel. After her retirement she devoted herself to her grandchildren, church work, gardening, and travel.
Mrs. Arrowood was preceded in death by her father Ronald Weiss and her mother Jane Weiss.
Left to cherish Mrs. Arrowood's memory are, her loving husband of 54 years, Thomas "Tom" Anthony Arrowood; children Angie Arrowood (Jamie Pace) of Collierville, TN; Tommi Jane Forsyth (Jerry Forsyth) of Macon, and Bert Arrowood (Lauren Arrowood) of Greenville, SC. Her eight grandchildren: Andrew Arrowood, Sam Forsyth, Emma Forsyth, Abby Arrowood, Will Forsyth, Annie Arrowood, Alivia Arrowood and Lyla Forsyth; adored their "Gigi" and she will forever be a part of their lives.
In lieu of flowers, the family graciously requests donations be made to the Mikado Music Academy at Mikado Baptist Church, Macon, Georgia.
