James E. Wright: 76, of Macon, Georgia passed away Sunday, March 22, 2015. Funeral services will be held Friday, March 27, 2015 in the Lawrence Drive Baptist Church at 10:00 a.m. with burial to follow in GlenHaven Memorial Gardens. Reverends Brad Marchman, David Self and Gary Cadwell will officiate.
Visitation will be held Thursday, March 26, 2015 from 6:00 p.m. till 8:00 p.m. in FairHaven Funeral Home, 4989 Mount Pleasant Church Road, Macon.
Born in Calhoun County, Mississippi, he was the son of the late Arthur T. Wright and Bunch Wright. He was a member of Lawrence Drive Baptist Church, where he attended the Brannen Mens Sunday School Class. He served as a Deacon for over 40 years and Sunday School Director for 25 years.
Mr. Wright was retired from Armstrong World Industries after 40 years of service. He was a member of the AFL-CIO local #461, serving as Financial secretary for 25 years. Also in 2012, he was named Man of the Year by the union and was elected to the AFL-CIO Hall of Fame representing Armstrong World Industries.
He is survived by his wife, Roslyn Wright of Macon; daughter, Loretta McCranie (Mark) of Lizella; grandchildren, Rita Boling(Chris), Jennifer DeJong(Matt), and Bobby McCranie. Great grandchildren, Sophia Boling and Paxten DeJong.
Flowers will be accepted, donations may be made to Pine Pointe Hospice or to the donor's favorite charity.
