James Thompson

James "Tommy" Thompson, 89, of Macon, passed away on October 23, 2019. A memorial service to celebrate his life will be held on Friday October 25, 2019 at 2:00 p.m. at Liberty United Methodist Church. The family will greet friends at the church beginning at 12:30 until service time.
Tommy was born in Meridian, Mississippi to the late George and Stella Thompson. He proudly served our country in the United States Navy and was the owner and operator of Thompson Systems Analysis. He was a faithful member of Liberty United Methodist Church, where he taught the Pairs and Spares Sunday School Class, was a Lay Minister and was on every committee. In his free time, he loved bowling and was a member of several leagues in the Middle Georgia area. Tommy was also an avid golfer and never missed his Tuesday tee time.
Left to cherish his memory is his loving family. His wife of 51 years; JoAnne Woods Thompson. Children; Kim Smith, Jill Douglas, Deborah MacMillan (Douglas, Sr.). Three grandchildren and eight great grandchildren.
