James Smith

James L Smith, 80, of Macon, Georgia, peacefully passed away surrounded by his family on Friday, April 11, 2025. A graveside service will be held at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, April 16, 2025 at Glen Haven Memorial Gardens Cemetery in the Mausoleum Chapel. Mr. Andy Pickens will officiate.

Mr. Smith was born on January 5, 1945 to the late Mr. Cozzie Smith and Mrs. Willie Smith. He was an avid woodworker and outdoorsman. He loved wood carving and walking in the woods.

Mr. Smith was preceded in death by his wife, Linda B Smith.

Left to cherish Mr. Smith's memory is his loving family; Sisters, Karen Santos (Bill) and Vickie Smith; Children, Allen Smith (Amy), Melissa Hammock (Jason), Debbie Pinholster, and Beth Grimsley; Grandchildren, Colby Pinholster, Jameson Smith, Johnathan Smith, Jay McDuffie, Emma Mitchell, Wyatt Mitchell, and Josie Smith; one Great Grandson, Brayden Pinholster.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you send plants, plant a tree, take a walk in the woods, or pick up a carving knife and create something with your hands—just as James would have done.
