James Martin

April 20, 1963 — May 22, 2016

James "Jimmy" Adam Martin, 53, of Byron went to be with his Lord and Savior surrounded by those he loved most, Sunday, May 22,2016. Funeral Services will be held Thursday, May 26 at 11:00 a.m. at Cathedral of Christ Baptist Church, 3216 Hartley Bridge Road. Burial will be immediately following in Evergreen Cemetery. Pastor Monty Febuary will officiate. The family will greet friends Wednesday, May 25 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at FairHaven Funeral Home.
Born in France as a military dependent, Jimmy was a loyal member of Christ Cathedral Baptist Church, where he was a Deacon and an adult Sunday School Teacher. He was a diehard Atlanta Braves fan for as long as anyone can remember. He kept up with all their stats and wrote them down in notebooks that he kept for years. Jimmy also enjoyed golfing. But Jimmy's passion in life was God, he would witness to anyone whenever he had a chance. He took every opportunity to tell people how great his Lord was. He was a kind man with a sweet spirit, a loving husband, great father, and adoring Poppa.
Left to cherish his memory is his wife of 13 years, Michelle Denise Martin, Parents; Walter Martin and Carmen Martin, Sons; Kirk Martin (Amy), Lance Cummings, and Austin Martin. Daughters; Faith Sandoval (Daniel), Kayla Williams (Rodney), and Nikki Price (Ryan). Seven Grandchildren and Two Siblings; Pete Martin and Teresa Davis (Gary). But Jimmy will be loved and missed by all who knew him.
