Jimmy was a Deacon with Byron Baptist Church where he was a member since 1986 serving the Lord faithfully in many areas. Jimmy was a coach with several rec departments and "practically coached every kid in the county." The kids he coached affectionately referred to him as Coach Jimmy. He wasn't just their coach on the field but kept up with them for many years to come.
