James Charlie Lang, 84, of Lizella, passed away peacefully Sunday, December 21, 2014 at his residence. Funeral Services will be held Tuesday, December 23, 2014 at 1:00 P.M. in the chapel of FairHaven Funeral Home, 4989 Mount Pleasant Church Road with Reverend Danny Lyles officiating. The family will greet friends beginning at 11:30 A.M. until service time. Burial will be immediately following at Glen Haven Memorial Gardens.
James was born in Cordele, Georgia to the late Charlie and Mary Myrtle Jacobs Lang. He is preceded in death by his sister, Juanita Lang. He attended Lanier High School. James was a former member of Mabel White Baptist Church and current member of Lizella Baptist Church. He was co-owner of Langs Body Shop, retired from Colonial Baking Company, and served as a civil court bailiff for Bibb County Sheriff Department. James was a member of Middle Georgia Citizens Band Radio Club, a civil defense volunteer and a former Lions Club member.
His memory will forever be cherished by his loving wife of 63 years, Betty Sue Mauldin Lang, one son, Kenneth Ronald Lang, and one grandson, Matthew Evan Lang. Brother, Jacob Eugene (Dianne) Lang, Sister, Olivia June (Cecil Aldiene) Johnson, Sister-in-law, Alice (Glenn)Windham and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
