James Hicks

James Roy Hicks; 86, of Macon, Georgia passed away peacefully Saturday, June 27, 2015 with his loving family by his side. Funeral services to honor his life will be held Wednesday, July 1, 2015 at 2:00 P.M. in Avondale Baptist Church with burial immediately following in the church cemetery. Reverend Marty Watson will officiate. Visitation will be held Tuesday, June 30, 2015 from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M. in Fairhaven Funeral Home.
Roy proudly served our country in the United States Navy and was a Korean War Veteran. After his time in the service he retired from Robins Air Force Base as an Aircraft Mechanic. He also attended Avondale Baptist Church.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Johnnie Green Hicks and Anna Marie Bridges Hicks. One son, James Roy Hicks (Jimmy). As well as siblings Ruby Usery, John Ira Hicks, Robert Hicks, Marie Steele, and Iris Swymer.
His memory will forever be cherished by his wife of 60 years, Pat Hicks, Children, Lisa Wade (Greg) of Byron, Georgia, Jennifer Smith Garrett of Macon, Ronnie Hicks of Knoxville, Tennessee and one daughter-in-law, Nancy Hicks Bernard of Centerville, Georgia. Sisters, Helen Norman (Bob) of North Carolina, Mable Duckworth of Warner Robins, Georgia and Doris Purvis of Macon, Georgia. As well as eleven precious grandchildren and nineteen great-grandchildren.
