James Hammock

James Lester Hammock Sr. 81, of Lizella, Georgia passed away Sunday, September 11, 2016 with his loving family by his side. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, September 14, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. in Wesley United Methodist Church. Burial will follow with military honors at Glen Haven Memorial Gardens. Reverend Billy Kimbrel will officiate. A visitation will be held Tuesday, September 13, 2016 from 6:00 p.m. till 8:00 p.m. in Fairhaven Funeral Home, 4989 Mount Pleasant Church Road.
Born in Crawford County, he was the son of the late James Clayton Hammock and Ethel McDaniel Hammock. He was a member of the Wesley United Methodist Church, where he was a member of the Upper Room Sunday School Class. He was retired from Macon Iron and Paper and was a U.S. Army veteran.
He is survived by his wife, Susie Taylor Hammock of Lizella; children, Kathryn Hammock Reynolds (Joseph); Pamela Hammock Oliver (Lee), both of Lizella, and James Lester Hammock Jr (Delaine) of Perry. Twelve grandchildren and three great grandchildren.
