James Clyde Grantham, a lifelong cherished resident of Macon, Georgia, passed away peacefully on Sunday, October 4th, 2026, at the age of 80. Born on September 1st, 1946, in Macon, James lived a life filled with love, dedication, and service to his family, community, church, and country.

James was a devoted father, grandfather, and friend. He is survived by his loving daughter, Tonia Dry, and her husband Richard; his son, Wesley Grantham; and his cherished grandchildren, Madelyn Dry and Alexander Dry. James also leaves behind numerous nieces and nephews who will forever remember his kindness and generosity.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Doris and Charles Grantham, his brother Charles Grantham, and his sisters Kathleen Mimbs, Marjorie Stevens (Joe), Sarah Bragg (Bill), Merrell Hall (Oliver), and Carolyn Holder (Lathrop).

James was a proud graduate of Willingham High School who furthered his education at the University of Georgia where he earned his bachelor’s degree in business. He then dedicated his professional life as an Electronics Expert at Robins Air Force Base. His expertise and commitment were highly valued by his colleagues and the community he served.

A man of deep faith, James was a founding member of the Lawrence Drive Baptist Church, where he was a pillar of the congregation. He was also an avid Georgia Bulldogs fan and a licensed Hamm radio operator for over 60 years, passions that brought him joy and camaraderie throughout his life.

Friends and family are invited to pay their respects during a visitation at Fairhaven Funeral Home in Macon, Georgia, on Friday, October 9th, 2026, from 1:00 pm to 2:00 pm. A funeral service will follow at 2:00 pm to celebrate James’s life and legacy.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to the donor's favorite charity in memory of James.

James Clyde Grantham will be remembered for his unwavering love for his family, his dedication to his work, and his passionate involvement in his community. His legacy will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.
