Marie Shepard passed away on October 18, 2021 surrounded by her family that she loved
so dearly. Memorial services will be held at 12:00 pm, on Wednesday October 20, 2021 at
Lizella Baptist Church with Rev. Chris Minton officiating. Friends and family visitation will be
held before the service at 11:00 AM
Mrs. Shepard was born on January 25, 1939. She was predeceased by her parents, her
sisters and grandson, Nick Thompson. She was raised in LaGrange, GA and worked at
Woolworth's in LaGrange and Macon. She was the bookkeeper for BTV Systems for a number
of years before her retirement. Marie was a kind hearted and witty person who was always
smiling and laughing. She was a talented artist who loved painting, crocheting and crafting. She
also loved to bake cakes, especially Ninja Turtle cakes for her grandson's birthdays. She also
loved to fish with her husband and grandchildren. She was an active member of the Georgia
Homemakers Council where she won multiple awards for her photography. Marie married the
love of her life, Ebin Shepard, on August 31, 1957. She was a proud member of Bethesda Baptist
till it's closing. Most recently she was a faithful member of Lizella Baptist Church where she
was an active member of the Golden Fellowship. She loved spending time with her family and
friends. In particular, her grandchildren and great-grandchildren were a great source of joy to her.
Marie is survived by husband of 64 years, Ebin Shepard. Survivors also include her children
Terry Thompson and Jimmy (Karen) Shepard. In addition, she had six grandchildren: Brandon
(Donna) Shepard, Christian (Chrystle) Thompson, Joshua (Anna Beth) Shepard, Nick
Thompson, Gabe Thompson, Ryan (Mary Clay) Shepard. Additionally she had six great
grandchildren: Logan Shepard, Carson Shepard, Ruby Beth Shepard, Reagan Shepard, Rhett
Shepard and Obadiah Thompson.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Marie's name may be made to United in Pink 1515 Bass Rd
Building H, Macon, GA 31210
The family would like to thank Marie's medical team, especially Dr. Alan Justice,
Heartland Hospice Care, and all the wonderful nurses and staff at Piedmont, Macon North for
their excellent care.
