Jack Daniels Stewart, Jr.
November 22, 1942 — January 15, 2025
Jack Daniel Stewart, Jr., of Macon, Georgia, passed away on January 15, 2025, at his home in Macon, Ga.. A funeral service to honor his life will be held on Monday, January 20, 2025, at 2:00 PM in the chapel of Fairhaven Funeral Home with Doyle Stewart officiating. The family invites friends to join them one hour prior to the service for a time of visitation.
Jack was born on November 21, 1942, in Macon, Ga., to Jack Daniel Stewart, Sr. and Veneree Register Stewart Coleman. He was preceded in death by both parents, his wife of 54 years, Linda R. Stewart, and son, David Stewart. Jack was a member of Avondale Baptist Church in Macon where he was baptized in 1958. More recently, when asked where he attended church, he answered, "Ingleside Baptist Church, Tim McCoy is my pastor!" with a big smile. Due to ambulatory issues, he had never attended Ingleside but loved to tune in to the services each Sunday on TV. Like most, Jack had let his Christian faith slide for many years, but now states emphatically, "Jesus has a home for me!" He often had a somewhat crusty image that hid a huge giving heart, evidenced by giving assistance or money to those in need, even to people he didn't know. During his life, he enjoyed hunting and fishing and working with his hands. He almost single handedly built his beautiful home with the help of his sons. He enjoyed guns and collected and repaired them not only for himself but for others, while refusing to accept any compensation. He truly loved taking his boat out and fishing on Lake Tobosofkee, especially, with his son, Dan, and grandson, David. He was a man of many skills. Jack was a Master Electrician having worked with the union for many years before opening his own electrical business, from which he retired. He took great pride in quality and was often complemented for the high standards of work his company produced.
Left to cherish so many memories with Jack is his son, Danny ('Dan') Stewart; brother, Doyle T. Stewart (Janet); grandchildren; Meranda Stewart, Cristie Stewart, David, Elizabeth and Emily Stewart. A private interment will be held at a later date.
