Irene Lewis McHargue, 85, of Gray, GA died Thursday, May 4, 2017. Family will greet friends from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m. Thursday, May 11 at Barfield United Baptist Church, 6621 Rogers Rd., Macon, GA. Funeral Service will begin at 3:00. Interment will follow at the church cemetery.
Mrs. McHargue was born Feb. 7, 1932 in Harlan Co. Kentucky and had lived in the middle Georgia area for the past 39 years. She was the daughter of the late Eligha Lewis and Frances Turner Lewis. She was married to the late Rev. Edward McHargue for 62 years.
Mrs. McHargue is survived by her children, Rick McHargue and his wife Sue, Vicki McHargue, and John McHargue; her sister, Starr Lewis; 5 grandchildren; 3 great grandchildren and by several nieces and nephews.
Fairhaven Funeral Home, in Macon, has charge of the arrangements.
