Ione Ashley

Ione Chambers Ashley, 81, of Macon, passed away peacefully at her home surrounded by her loving family Tuesday, April 18, 2017. Funeral Services to celebrate her life will be held Friday, April 21, 2017 at 2:00 p.m. at Porterfield Baptist Church. Burial will be immediately following in Macon Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will have a time of visitation Thursday, April 20, 2017 from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at FairHaven Funeral Home, 4989 Mount Pleasant Church Rd, Macon.
Mrs. Ashley was born in McIntyre, Georgia on September 10, 1935. She graduated from Warner Robins High School and received a degree in Nutrition from Georgia College in Milledgeville. Mrs. Ashley retired from Bibb County Public School System, where she was the lunchroom manager for Southwest High School, and Southeast High School.
She was preceded in death by her daughter, Deborah Cofer; her parents, James F. and Annie Mina Chambers; and her sister, Shirley Chambers.
She leaves behind to cherish her memory, her loving husband of 45 years, Tony Ashley. Children: Mark Cofer, Jimmy Cofer (Manina), Larry Cofer (Bambi), Laura Cofer McLeod (Pat),Sherrie Ashley Treen (Allan), Kim Ashley Elder (Pat), Amanda Ashley, Robert Ashley and Jason Ashley. 21 grandchildren and 25 great grandchildren.
