Horace Lee Rhodes, 83, went to be with his Lord and Savior on Saturday June 13, 2026. Horace was preceded in death by his father, Horace Campell Rhodes and his mother Marjorie (Mot) Howell Rhodes. Also, his wife of many years, Janie Darden Rhodes. Family members left to cherish his memory are his brother, Clayton Rhodes; a daughter, Patricia Frazier; Two grandchildren Jamie Frazier, Mandy Horton (Jay); Three great grandchildren Macey Marie Shelton (Caleb), J.T. Frazier Jr., and Micah Limbaugh; and three great, great grandchildren, Rocky, Rambo, and Ripley Shelton. He was born in Washington, GA. and grew up in Taliafferro County and spent those years helping his family on the dairy farm. He later enlisted in the Army National Guard and served his country. Through both of these he learned the values of dedication and perseverance that guided him throughout his life. He lived for many years in Sparta, GA. and enjoyed his work with Lance Company after years of owning several convenience stores. Horace’s life was built on hard work, faith in GOD, family and simple joys. He enjoyed many days rocking on the porch, drinking coffee, and listening to music. He was a gentle, generous, kind man, who understood that some of life’s greatest blessings are found in quiet moments. We, his family, find comfort in knowing that while his earthly journey has ended, he is with our LORD and is at peace. We will always remember him with love.
