Herbert Burns

September 15, 1930 — June 30, 2017

Beloved husband, father, and grandfather Herbert Lamar Burns passed away Friday morning at the age of 86. Visitation will be held Sunday, July 2, 2017, from 5:00 -7:00 pm at FairHaven Funeral Home, and a graveside service will be held Monday, July 3, 2017, at 11:00 am, at Glen Haven Memorial Gardens with military honors.
Mr. Burns was born in Wrightsville, Georgia and proudly served his country as a Staff Sergeant from 1949-1953 during the Korean War.  He went on to work in the dietetic department in the VA Hospital in Dublin, then as a supervisor and warehouse foreman at Robins Air Force Base.
He is survived by his loving wife of 47 years, Jean Alford Burns; sisters Lila Smith and Marcelene Swain; children David, Greg, Ken, and Traci; grandchildren Nikki, D.J., Justin, Kyle, Lane, Jamie, Jessica, Bela, and Ramona; five great-grandchildren; and many more adoring family members and friends, who will miss his joyful presence and hearty laugh.
