Hazel Harris

Hazel Marie Love Harris, of Macon, Georgia passed away peacefully on Thursday, July 18, 2024. A private memorial will be held at a later date.

Mrs. Harris was born in Macon, Georgia on October 11, 1938, to the late Mr. William Thomas Love and Mrs. Nellie Lawson Jones. She was a telephone operator for AT&T for many years before retiring with Geico. She was a devoted and hard worker. In her free time, she enjoyed spending time outside enjoying the sunshine. She would plant and garden or take daily strolls around the neighborhood. Mrs. Hazel always looked forward to participating in the Labor Day Road Race here in Macon. Above all, she was most proud of her family and spent much of her time making memories with them that they will cherish forever.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her sister, JoAnn Zimmerman.

Left to cherish her memory is her loving husband of 54 years, Mr. Jackie Harris; sons, Joey (Molly) Kimsey, and Rick Kimsey; daughters, Elaine (Richard) Evans and Jennifer (John) Garrett; brother, Billy Love; grandchildren, Joel, Alex, Kate, Sarah, Chris, Anthony, Roman, Hannah, Skye, and Victoria; several great grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers or donations, the family asks that you graciously make donations in Mrs. Hazels honor to one of the following: St. Jude's Research Hospital, Shrinners Childrens Group, or the Wounded Warriors Foundation.
