Harold "Hal" Thomas Polk, 85, of Macon, Georgia passed away on Monday, December 9, 2024. A memorial service to honor his life will be held on Thursday, December 12, 2024, at 2:00 PM in the Chapel of Fairhaven Funeral Home. The visitation will be held one hour prior to the service. Pastor Chris Minton will officiate.
Hal was born on May 21, 1939, in Dawson, Georgia, to the late Mr. Clayton and Mrs. Ella Polk. Hal was a devoted train conductor for nearly 40 years with Norfolk Southern before retiring. He and his wife, Mary were members at Lizella Baptist Church where they made many lasting friendships within. Hal enjoyed golfing, fishing, always telling jokes, and mowing the grass on his John Deere. The simplicity within his hobbies, describe best the simple man that he was. Hal would never turn down traveling, especially to the mountains. His witty laugh, strong willed mind, and generous heart will be dearly missed by all those who knew and loved him.
Left to cherish his memory is his loving wife of 64 years, Mary W. Polk; son, Craig Polk (Angela); daughters, Kristy P. Woodard (Randy) and Tracy Polk; niece, Sherry Sloan (Ben); grandchildren, Holly Bradford (Richard), Kacy Polk, Brooke Henson (Jack), Karleigh Andrieux (Ryan), Micah C. Woodard, Bart Mullis (Diana), Tara Gonga, Savannah Averos (Remy); great grandchildren, Elodie, Lillian, Leela, River, Willow, Londyn.
