Harold Maynard

January 30, 1935 — June 14, 2022

Harold Wilder Maynard, 87, of Macon, passed away peacefully and went to be with his Lord and Savior on Tuesday, June 14, 2022. The family will have a time of visitation on Thursday, June 16, 2022, from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at FairHaven Funeral Home. Funeral Services to honor his life will be held on Friday at 2:00 p.m at Lizella Baptist Church Worship Center. Reverend Chris Minton will officiate. Immediately following the service, Mr. Maynard will be laid to rest in Macon Memorial Park Cemetery with military honors.
Mr. Maynard was born on January 30, 1935, in Cochran, Georgia to the late Thomas Grady Maynard and Alice Wilder Barlow Maynard. He proudly served our country in the United States Army, where he served in "C" Company Tank Battalion. He later retired from Armstrong World Industries after 38 years, where he worked in the finishing department. Mr. Maynard had a big family of Christian friends especially his Sunday School Class at Lizella Baptist Church. His life works has been to serve the Lord and was a faithful member of Lizella Baptist Church, where he served as deacon, men's ministries , outreach ministries, volunteer for vacation bible School and was over the baptisms for many years. In his free time he enjoyed gardening, working in his yard, and canning pear preserves.
He was preceded in death by his brothers, Frank Maynard, Bill Maynard, and Lester Maynard; beloved brother in law, Bill Harvel.
Left to cherish his memory is his loving family. His wife of 62 years Jane Maynard. Children; Wendy Odom (Sam), and Kenneth Harold Maynard. Grandchildren; Tripp Johnson (Jessica), and April Johnson. Great grandchildren; Gracie Johnson, Jake Johnson, Keelan Johnson, Bristol Johnson, and Weston Johnson. Siblings; Lafayette Maynard, Freddy J. Maynard (Sandra) and Carolyn M. Landreau (Jim); Sister in law, Judy Harvel.
Flowers will be accepted or donations may be made to Lizella Baptist Church, 2950 South Lizella Road Macon, Ga. 31052.
