Gordon Roberson

Gordon T. Roberson, 82, of Macon went to be with his Lord and Savior, Friday, August 24, 2018. A graveside funeral service will be held, Monday, August 27, 2018 at 3:00 p.m. at Avondale Baptist Church; 6970 Cochran Field Rd; Macon, Georgia 31216. The family will greet friends, Monday, August 27, 2018 at FairHaven Funeral Home from 1:00-2:30 p.m. prior to the graveside service.

Born in Telfair County, Georgia on September 9, 1935 to the late Allen and Epsie Roberson, Gordon went on to serve his country in the United States Army as a Blue Spader in the 26th Infantry Division, to which he served with great pride and honor. After the Army, he went on to fulfill a career with Armstrong, in Macon, GA. Gordon could be best known for raising several generations of children with his late wife Sherry. He was able to mold numerous young minds with his wisdom and knowledge. Most of all he was a loving family man and will be deeply missed by all those who loved him.

Gordon was preceded in death by his wife, Sherry Roberson and brothers: Howard Roberson, Ernest Roberson, Leonard Roberson, Dudley Roberson and Curtis Roberson.

Left to cherish his memory are his children Linda Hattaway (Michael) and Raymond Carlisle; brother, Allen Roberson Jr.; Grandchildren, Becky Carlisle, Skylar Meade and Britt Meade (Sara), Brandon Carlisle, Destin Carlisle, Kaitlyn Carlisle, Dakota Carlisle; and one Great Grandchild, Xander Abshire.
