Gloria Ann Boutwell Corley, 83, passed away peacefully on June 6, 2024, surrounded by her
loving family. A Funeral service to honor her life will be held at 3 p.m. Tuesday, June 11, 2024
at Fairhaven Funeral Home; 4989 Mount Pleasant Church Rd. Macon, Ga 31216. The family will
be accepting visitors 1 hour prior and all are welcome to attend. Pastor Johnny Baggett will officiate.
Mrs. Corley was born on December 29, 1940, in Macon, Georgia to the late James Ronald
Boutwell and Mary Elizabeth Logue Boutwell. Gloria was a member of the Southside Baptist
Church in south Macon. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by Sidney Lanier
Corley, love of her life and husband of 53 wonderful years. Also preceded by her brothers,
Bobby Boutwell (Sherry), Ronnie Boutwell, Butch Boutwell, and Kenny Boutwell.
Gloria retired from Warner Robins Air Force Base as a Contracting Officer after 33 years of
distinguished service. She was also a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and aunt. Her
hobbies included gardening, sewing, cooking and interior decorating. She loved spending time
with her children, grandchildren, nieces, and nephews. Her home for many years was the
gathering place for family celebrations and holidays and her carrot cake was a family tradition. She touched the lives of all fortunate enough to know her.
Left to cherish her memory are her loving children: Danny (Mary), Richard, and Teresa, five
grandchildren, Ashley Fowler (Russell), Kristin Mimbs (Davey), Logan Fowler (Hannah), Kelly Douglas
and Lindsey Parrish. Seven great grandchildren, Griffin, Weylin, Tinley, Jackson, Madison, Ava,
Skyler and a host of nieces, nephews and cousins.
