Glorene "Glo" Adele (Bowman) Scarboro, loving wife, mother, Amie, Grammy and sister, 72, of Crawford County passed away on Thursday, September 7, 2023. The family invites friends to join them for a time of visitation on Friday, September 8, 2023, from 5:00 PM-7:00 PM at FairHaven Funeral Home. A funeral service to honor her life will be held Saturday, September 9, 2023, at 11:00 AM at Fellowship Church, 4967 Sandy Point Rd, Lizella, Georgia, 31052. Immediately following, Mrs. Scarboro will be laid to rest in the Byron City Cemetery. Pastor Phil Faraone will officiate.
Mrs. Scarboro was born on April 11, 1951, in Reading, Pennsylvania, to the late Mr. Edward Bowman and Mrs. Betty Jane Schonour. Glo was a pillar of strength and compassion in her community, dedicating her life to spreading love and kindness through her ministry work, she was a cofounder of Love In Action OutReach Ministry. She selflessly taught Sunday school and cared for the nursery, nurturing the spiritual growth of countless young minds at World of Life Church, where she was a devoted member. Mrs. Scarboro had an immeasurable love for her family, and her warmth and care extended to all who had the privilege of knowing her. She leaves behind a legacy of love, faith, and service that will forever be cherished in the hearts of those she touched.
In addition to her parents, Glo is preceded in death by her son, Terry Lee Scarboro.
Left to cherish her memory is her husband of 54 years, Tommy Lee Scarboro, Sr.; children, Tom Scarboro, Jr. (Jennifer) and Timmy Scarboro (Melissa); 3 grandchildren, Avery Scarboro (Bethany Barron), Blake Scarboro, and Lane Scarboro. Sisters, Joanne Gentry, Marcia McGlone (Scott), and Cindy Hiles (Cliff) as well as several nieces and nephews.
