Glenn Ray Goldsum, 73, passed unexpectedly in his home in Macon, GA, on April 10, 2019, the last remaining son of Lillie Montag Goldsum and John Frederick Goldsum of Victoria, TX. He is survived by his sister-in-law Earline Goldsum and niece Kristin Goldsum Hilley and family of Willis, TX; niece Karen Goldsum and nephew Jeff Goldsum of Austin; and niece Lynn Goldsum McMullen and family of Macon, GA, where he lived for the last 15 months. Glenn grew up in Victoria, Texas, served in the Army in Germany for 3 years, graduated from the University of Texas, and worked for Halliburton Oil Tools for many years. Later he lived in Austin, Texas and worked for several companies as a courier. He was a big fan of football, especially of Texas professional teams and of the University of Texas, and never missed a televised game. He loved rock and roll and some country music and recently won a trivia contest about music from the 50's and 60's in Magnolia Manor Senior Living Community. Just two weeks ago, he visited the Allman Brothers Band (ABB) Big House Museum in Macon, and was delighted to see a poster of a concert he attended in Texas when ABB was an opening act for ZZ Top. Glenn did not request funeral services, so no flowers will be necessary, but donations in his memory may be made to Magnolia Manor, a ministry of the United Methodist Church to Older Adults in Macon, GA.
