Gilbert Wayne Stinson, 78, of Knoxville, passed away on Tuesday, December 15, 2020. Funeral services will be private.
Mr. Stinson was born on August 10, 1942 in Macon, Georgia, to the late Benny Stinson and Dorothy Thomas Parker. He proudly served his country in the United States Navy and he retired as a maintenance supervisor with Atlanta Gas Light. Mr. Stinson loved the outdoors, coaching little league, and spending much of his time hunting deer. He was a self-proclaimed wine connoisseur.
Mr. Stinson was preceded in death by his daughter, Sharon Skinner.
Mr. Stinson is survived by son, Bill Stinson; life-long friend, Barbara "June" Stinson; grandchildren, Austin Skinner (Victoria), Justin Skinner (Leah), Billy Wayne Stinson, Terry Raburn Stinson, Kaylee Winslett (Chris), and Lindsey Marshall; great-grandchild, Everly Skinner; sisters, Rosanne Dean and Debra White (Joe); son-in-law, Rick Skinner (Terri); and nieces and a nephew.
