Gerald Wayne Thompson, Sr. 75, of Warner Robins, Georgia passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family, Saturday November 15, 2014. Funeral Services will be held Thursday November 20,2014 at 6:00 p.m. at FairHaven Funeral Home, 4989 Mount Pleasant Church Road, Macon, Georgia. The family will greet friends at the funeral home starting at 4:00 p.m. until service time. Burial will be private.
Jerry was born in Durham North Carolina and attended Durham County High School. He moved his family to Warner Robins in 1974. He was retired as a Journeyman Mold Maker from Anchor Glass, where he was employed for over 30 years. Jerry enjoyed the outdoors, gardening & loved animals. His favorite hobby was painting pictures, and paint by numbers, but you couldn't tell by looking at them because he did such a great job. He was a loving husband, father, family man, & friend who was loved and well respected. He will be sadly missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him. The world is a better place because he was here.
Jerry was preceded in death by his father Norfleet Thompson & Mother Ethel Thompson, sister Dorothy Thompson & loving wife of 38 years Betsy Britt Thompson.
His memory will forever be cherished by his loving wife Karen Thompson, daughter Denise Workman (Dale), Son Gerald Wayne Thompson, Jr. (Trina), step daughters, Diana Tankersley, and Traci Broussard, Granddaughters, Krissy Bennington (Nick), Kristen & Kira Thompson, Britney & Amanda Tankersley. Grandsons Daniel Workman, Cody Thompson, and Denny Tankersley, Jr. Brother Donnie (Marge) Thompson, Sisters Shirley Perry (Randy),and Nancy Thompson. One first cousin Louis Lemons, several nieces & nephews, and a best friends Leonard Beal.
In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to the American Cancer Society, 804 Cherry Street, Macon.
