Fred Gary Moncrief, 65 of Macon, Georgia passed away Saturday, October 28, 2017. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, October 31, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. in the chapel of Fairhaven Funeral Home. Reverend Bob Hamilton will officiate. Burial will follow in Glen Haven Memorial Gardens. The family will have a time of visitation on Monday, October 30, 2017 from 6:00 p.m. till 8:00 p.m. in the funeral home.
Born in Macon, he was retired from Armstrong World Industries, working in the shipping department. Later, he was the Co-owner and operator of Moncrief Sand Blasting Company.
Mr. Moncrief was a member of the Porterfield Baptist Church, where he served as a deacon and attended Sunday School. He was very involved in charity Tractor Shows for Jay's Hope and St. Jude's Children's Hospital and was a member of the Flywheel Club. He was preceded in death by his wife, Rachel Smith Moncrief.
He is survived by his parents, Clay and Ellen Moncrief; Children and Grandchildren, Clay, (Sunshine), Faith and Preston Moncrief; Keely, (T.J.), Jacob, Carson, and Layce Ikner; Step-Children, Tony, Chelsea, and Josh Polk, and Rebecca Holder, and several step grandchildren. Brothers, Kirby and Andy Moncrief. Also, Several Aunts, Uncles, nieces and nephews.
