Reverend Frank Clarence Chapman, 97, of Lizella, went to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, Friday June 16, 2017 at his residence. Funeral Services to celebrate his life will be held Monday, June 19, 2017 at 11:00 A.M. at Fellowship Evangelistic Church. Reverends Russ Bozeman, Bobby Hamlin, Ricky Tidwell, and John Whitehead officiating. Immediately following the service, Mr. Chapman will be laid to rest in the church cemetery. The family will have a time of visitation to greet friends Sunday night from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at FairHaven Funeral Home, 4989 Mount Pleasant Church Road, Macon.
Born on June 15, 1920 in Crawford County, Georgia, Mr. Chapman was the son of the late Pierce and Lillie Bell Chapman. Mr. Chapman was a 1939 graduate of CCH School He was a minister by trade and in the 1940s he served on the Crawford County Farm Bureau Board for five years. He also served as tax receiver of Crawford County for two years, and for five years he was on the Crawford County Board of Tax assessors. For twenty five years he was on the Crawford County Family and Children Board. Mr. Chapman was on the Southern River Director Board for thirty nine years. He was one of the founders and organizers of Fellowship Evangelistic Church. He pastored for over forty years and thirty three of those years were spent pastoring at Fellowship Evangelistic Church. He was one of the organizers of the Southeastern Holiness camp where he was Vice President for sixteen years and President for three years. His ministry spanned over fifty five years serving on the Southeastern Evangelistic Group Board for twenty years. Mr. Chapman was a lifetime resident of Lizella and moved to his current residence in May 1956. He ended his ministry and preached his last sermon at Fellowship Evangelistic Church homecoming in September of 2011 at the age of 92.
Mr. Chapman was greeted in heaven by his parents, his wife, whom he adored, Dorothy Hartley Chapman and three Infant Children. As well as two sisters: Veta Hamlin and Lucy Torbert.
Left to cherish his memory is his loving family. His son; Franklin P. Chapman, daughter: Sandra Vaughn (Gene). Brothers: J.P. Chapman (Gerry), Lewis Chapman , Quinton Chapman, and Larry Chapman (Judy). Six grandchildren: Ravonda Savage, Mitzi Atkinson, Craig Chapman, Scott Chapman, Rodney Joyner, and Kim Brewer. Six great grandchildren and one great great-grandchild.
