Exie Kitchens Ragan, 86, passed away peacefully Monday, August 15, 2016 surrounded by her loving family. Funeral Services to honor her life will be held Friday, August 19 at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel of FairHaven Funeral Home. Reverend Brad Marchman, Dr. Craig Bailey and Pastor Phil Bryant will officiate. A private family burial will follow in Glen Haven Memorial Gardens. The family will greet friends beginning at 12:30 p.m. the day of the service at the funeral home.
Born in Jasper County, Georgia, Mrs. Exie was the daughter of the late T.J. Kitchens and Mary Collis Kitchens. As a former clerk at Robins Air Force Base, she retired after 29 years of service. She was an active member of Lawrence Drive Baptist Church and was very involved with her Sunday School Class and the Women's Missionary Union. Mrs. Exie loved to cook, bake and enjoyed reading in her spare time. She enjoyed working with all her flowers and plants. Her pride and joy in life were her grandchildren and great-grandchildren ,whom she loved dearly.
Mrs. Exie was preceded in death by her parents, and one brother; Gerald Kitchens.
Left to cherish her memory is her loving husband of 69 years, Fred Ragan, Children; Patsy Haynes (Jim), and Perry Ragan (Wanda).Three Grandchildren; David Wilder, Christy Sutton (Tony), and Kyle Ragan, as well as three Great-Grandchildren; Brianna Kessee, Avery Sutton, and Makenna Sutton.
In lieu of flowers, the family request donations please be made to Pine Pointe Hospice, Lawrence Drive Baptist Church WMU, or your favorite charity.
