Evelyn McCrary Horne, 93, of Macon, passed away on Friday, July 19, 2024. Funeral services will be private.
Ms. Evelyn was born in Macon, Georgia on April 20, 1931, to the late Mr. Rollie Biddick McCrary and Mrs. Francis Vinson McCrary. She was a member of the Bibb County Home Makers club, and the past president of the Heart of Georgia Quilt Guild. She made lasting friendships within these groups, and truly enjoyed the time she put into them. In her free time, she enjoyed cooking, reading, sewing, and crafting. Together, she and Jimmie made countless memories together with the Dixie Duner Dune Buggy club members. Above all, her family was her greatest treasure. She will be dearly missed by all those who knew and loved her.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Jimmie Horne; daughter, Lisa Marney; brother, Robert McCrary; and sister, Betty Rozier.
Left to cherish her memory are her children, Beth and son in law Freddy Hall, Karen (John) Malone; grandchildren, Brandi (Andrew) Pieplow, Bud (Amanda) Hall, Holly (Lucas) Stickler, and Christopher (Haley) Holt; as well as five great grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers or donations, the family graciously asks that you make donations in Ms. Evelyn's honor to St Jude's Children's Hospital.
