Gene was born on July 12, 1953 in Bethesda, Maryland to the late William and Alberta Nickles. He was an extremely hard worker and took great pride in his work as a Journeyman Electrician. For the first 20 years of his career, Gene worked with his tools in the trade, and for the last 25 years he was employed with White Electric as a project manager and estimator. Gene was a member of the local #1316 IBEW for over 45 years. In his free time, Gene was a great cook, and especially loved his Weber grill. He enjoyed fishing and music and in his younger years he could "cut a rug". Gene had a talent for whistling and was known to trick people with his unique way of whistling by not moving his mouth. Over the years Gene collected antiques, becoming particularly fond of Crawford County Pottery. His greatest joy came from his family. He was his happiest when he was spending time with them, especially his children.
Left to cherish his memory is his loving family. His wife Pamela Petrone Nickles. Children; Trisha Jean Nickles and Dylan Ross Nickles as well as his brother; Johnny Mack Nickles (Patricia). Gene leaves behind a host of family and friends who will miss him dearly.
