Emma Lou Howell Staples, 85, of Macon, Georgia passed away peacefully on Monday, June 27, 2016. A graveside service will be held on Friday, July 1, 2016 at 2:00 PM in Macon Memorial Park Cemetery, Macon, Georgia with Reverend Johnny Baggett officiating. The family will greet friends at FairHaven Funeral Home on Thursday June 30, 2016 from 6-8.Emma Lou loved spending time with her Children and Grandchildren, as well as her dog Emma and her bird. She enjoyed Holiday cooking and cooking for New Elim Baptist Church, where she was a member. She could also be found crocheting, a talent she enjoyed.Born in Twiggs County, to the late Velma Howell she is preceded in death by her daughter, Deborah Crosby; her brothers Leonard Howell, Boe Green, her sisters; Margaret and Velma, Lallia Simpson, Gay Austin, Hazel Peavy, and Cornelia Hopkins. Left to cherish her memory is her loving husband James Staples, Sr., her children; James "Jimmy" Staples, Jr. (Belinda), Judith Staples Thomas; brothers, Ralph and Darrell Howell, 13 Grandchildren and several Great Grandchildren; however, she will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
