Eloise Daniels Brown, 95, of Macon, Georgia, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, August 27, 2024, at her home on Lake Tobesofkee. Graveside services will be held at Orange Hill Cemetery in Hawkinsville, Georgia, on Saturday, August 31, 2024, at 11:00 AM with her Pastor, Chris Minton, officiating. The family will visit friends on Friday afternoon, August 30, 2024, from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM at FairHaven Funeral Home, at 4989 Mount Pleasant Church Road, Macon, Georgia 31216.
Ms. Brown was born in the Midway District of Hawkinsville, Georgia, on April 6, 1929, to her parents, the late John Wesley Daniels, Sr. and Johnnie Lancaster Daniels. She graduated from Hawkinsville High School and attended Middle Georgia College. She felt the big city of Macon, Georgia, calling and her and began her career working at Georgia Highway Transport where she met her future husband who had just come home from serving in the army (WWII). Eloise had a long career devoted to the trucking industry later working for Benton Trucking and eventually working for Carolina Freight until retirement. She was a member of the Teamsters Union. Retirement wasn't exciting enough, and she went back to work at Chichesters for many years. Eloise taught Sunday School to an adult ladies class for well over 25 years at West Highland Baptist Church and Lakeview Baptist. She was faithful member at Lizella Baptist Church in her later years. Eloise was a member of the American Business Women's and the Woman Transportation Club.
Eloise and her husband spent many years traveling on bus tours seeing the beautiful world in the United States visiting as many states as possible. In their younger years they even visited Cuba before it was taken over by Communists. Eloise loved traveling to the mountains to see the Rhododendron and Mountain Laurel in bloom.
Eloise was preceded in death by her husband, George T. Brown, Jr. She is survived her son, George Daniel "Danny" Brown and his wife, Gina Joyner Brown of Crawford County and her sister, Bonnie Bollinger and her husband, John B. Bollinger of Cochran, Georgia. Eloise is survived by five nephews and four nieces, 13 great nephews and six great nieces and sixteen great great nephews and eight great nieces. She was preceded in death by her parents and siblings, John W. Daniels, Jr. and his wife, Ruth A. Daniels and Larry D. Daniels and his wife Betty H. Daniels.
The family would like to acknowledge their deepest gratitude and appreciation to the staff and caregivers of Brightmoor Hospice and to Eloise's neighbors and Sunday School class members.
