Ellen Y. Byrd, a beloved resident of Byron, Georgia, passed away peacefully on Monday, December 15th, 2025, at the age of 62. Ellen was born on a crisp autumn Saturday, November 23rd, 1963, in her home state of Georgia. She lived a life full of love, laughter, and dedication to her family and friends.
Ellen is lovingly remembered by her husband, Danny Fowler, her son, Zachary Fowler, and his wife Cecilia, as well as her daughters, Chelsie Scarlett and her husband Dalton, Brittany Martin and her husband Dustin, Tiffany Hulett and her husband Edward, and April Cunard and her husband Sean. Her family was her pride and joy, and she was a cherished grandmother to twelve adoring grandchildren: Elliott, Bowen, Paisley, Weston, Axel, Ryder, Noah, Wyatt, Cali, Zalea, Dawson, and Zander. Her kindness and warmth will forever be etched in their hearts.
Ellen is survived by her brothers, Ricky Byrd, Aaron Byrd, and Royce Byrd, and her sisters, Barbara Rousch and Greta Byrd. She joins in eternal rest her beloved parents, Earl Douglas Byrd and Francis Ellen Byrd, her brothers Earl W. Byrd and Chester Byrd, and her sisters Brenda Byrd and Joyce Byrd, who predeceased her.
A woman of faith and community, Ellen was a dedicated member of the Gateway Fellowship Church of God, where she found spiritual fulfillment and camaraderie. Known for her infectious smile and witty spirit, she had a remarkable gift for making those around her feel at ease. Whether engaging in long conversations or simply being present with loved ones, Ellen was happiest when surrounded by family, always selflessly putting others before herself. Her big heart and pleasant demeanor touched everyone she met.
Family and friends are invited to celebrate Ellen’s remarkable life during a visitation at Fairhaven Funeral Home in Macon, Georgia, on Wednesday, December 17th, 2025, from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm. A funeral service will be held at Byron City Cemetery in Byron, Georgia, on Thursday, December 18th, 2025, at 11:00 am.
Ellen's journey here may have come to a close, but the love and memories she leaves behind will continue to inspire and comfort all who knew her. She will be deeply missed but fondly remembered by all whose lives she touched.
