Eleanor Kathleen Johnson, a beloved resident of Gray, Georgia, passed away peacefully on Monday, April 20th, 2026, at the age of 98. Born in Barnesville, Georgia, on February 28th, 1928, Kathleen lived a long and fulfilling life, touching the hearts of many with her kindness and generous spirit.
Kathleen was a dedicated secretary and bookkeeper at Pittman/Waller Roofing Company, where she proudly served for fifty years. Known for her hardworking and diligent nature, she was a conversationalist who always had time for a kind word and a helping hand.
Throughout her life, Kathleen cherished her family and found immense joy in spending time with her loved ones. She is survived by her son, Jim Johnson and his wife Kathy; her daughter, Kay Seibel; and her treasured grandchildren: Kim (Brent) Olgers, Crystal (Chris) Roquemore, Jessica (Derek) Fuller, Jeff (Tracy) Seibel, and Karen (John) Dyas, along with numerous great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren. Her family was her pride and joy, and her legacy of love will continue to thrive through them. Kathleen was affectionately called "Granny
Kat" by those who provided her care at Lynn Haven Nursing home.
Kathleen was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 41 years, Howard Floyd Johnson; her parents, James Charles Story and Almay Haywood Story; and her son-in-law, Gil Seibel.
Her passions included working in the yard, gospel, country, rock and roll and soul music, writing poetry, enjoying her computer and reading her Bible.
Friends and family are invited to celebrate Kathleen's life on Friday, April 24th, 2026. Visitation will be held from 2:00 pm to 3:00 pm at United Community Church, 2411 Heath Road, Macon, Georgia 31206, followed by a funeral service at 3:00 pm. Kathleen’s family kindly requests that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to Lynn Haven Nursing Home, 747 Monticello Hwy, Gray, GA 31032, in her memory.
