Earl Hunt Rowntree, 89 of Macon, Georgia passed away peacefully Sunday, September 13, 2015 at Pine Pointe Hospice and went to be with his Lord and Savior. Funeral services to honor his life will be held in the Mausoleum Chapel of Macon Memorial Park Cemetery on Wednesday, September 16, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. till service time. Patrick Cramer will officiate.
Born in Claxton, Georgia, he was the son of the late Herbert Hunt Rowntree and Thelma Rowntree. He was retired aircraft sheet metal specialist from Robins Air Force Base after 39 years of service. He proudly served our country in the United States Navy. He was preceded in death by his wife of 47 years, Jeanette Stulz Rowntree, Son, Ronald Stulz, and a brother, William "Billy" Rowntree.
Mr. Rowntree was a charter member of the Bloomfield United Methodist Church, where he served on the Board of Directors, taught Sunday School, and was a Deacon. He also was a founding member of the Holy Spirit Harvest Church, which is now known as Harvest Cathedral today. He was an ordained minister, enjoying holding bible study, and Sunday morning services for the Pinegate residents.
Mr. Rowntree loved singing in the quartet with Sam West, JoAnne Thompson and Faye DeBary, and being involved in other ministries, like Full Gospel Mens Ministries.
He is survived by his wife, Paula Rowntree of Macon; Children, David Rowntree (Zeta) of Macon; Penny West (Thomas,deceased) of Macon; Grandchildren, Deborah Kelley (Eddie), Wendy West, Heather Mathis (Brian), Amanda Rowntree; Ken Brown, Blake Brown. .; Great grandchildren, Savannah, Evan, Jenna, Jacob, Madison, Libby, Aubrey, Vaden, Sylar, Betty, and Gavin. Step-children, Terry Peavy (Karen) of Warner Robins, Ga.; and Debbie Vartenisian (Mike) of Warner Robins, Ga Step- Grandchildren Michaela Vartenisian, Brook Hering, Kristina Hilton, Bethany Hardy, Brian Peavy.
