Dorothy Jane Nichols of Macon, Georgia passed away on Sunday, January 14, 2024. The family invites friends to join them for a visitation from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM on Thursday, January 18, 2024 at Fairhaven Funeral Home. Immediately following the visitation, a private entombment will take place in the Glen Haven Mausoleum.
Dorothy was born in Eastman, Georgia on December 26, 1942, to the late Mr. Henry Herman Horne and Mrs. Mary Aline Coleman. She married Mr. Robert Leon Nichols in 1978, and together they built a life they loved. They were of the Baptist Faith and attended Plain Field Baptist Church. In Dorothys free time she enjoyed cheering on the Braves, watching TV and singing to her Country CD's. She was a simple woman that loved the outdoors. She will be dearly missed by everyone who was lucky enough to know her.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Robert Leon Nichols.
Left to cherish her loving memory is her daughter, Gail Hadarits; sister, Laverne Wing (Gary); and a host of many cousins, aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers and donations, the family graciously asks that donations be made to the Wounded Warrior Project in Dorothy's honor.
